Why are the streets in poor condition?

I have been a resident of this city for over 50 years. About 4-5 years ago I started noticing a degradation of our city roads and facilities. Maybe it is because the city was spending too much money and too much time on the “way over budget” swimming complex.

A recent article in the Post highlighted what a beautiful “pool” project the city has developed (although still not finished in over 2-3 years and being $15 million over budget). In the real world of business those responsible for this fiasco should have been terminated. So many engineering and development mistakes have been made.

As you drive around Piedmont, please take a look at the level of maintenance of the roads. The paving plan is so delayed it has caused additional damage to our roads. Striping and road stenciling signage of most of streets has been all but forgotten.

The current management of the city should take a look back at prior managers and their budgets who kept our city infrastructure constantly updated and looking like a premier city.

All our home values are at risk.
