Over the last weekend, three brothers – Cooper, Ramsey, and Dillon Stull –accomplished the rare feat of winning the championship of their respective Piedmont Baseball and Softball Foundation tournaments.

Ramsey and Dillon both play on the Space Cowboys in the Mustang Division and are coached by their dad, Jonathan Stull.

Although the Space Cowboys finished in eighth place, the team came alive in the tournament. They opened by defeating No. 1 seed Sea Wolves on Wednesday, May 14, followed up by beating No. 4 Biscuits on Saturday, May 17, and beat No. 3 Iron Birds 7-5 in the championship game the same day.

Ramsey pitched as the closer in every game, and Dillon grabbed the final out in both the semifinals and finals, snagging a high fly ball to end semis and a grounder in the championship game. Ramsey is 10-years-old, while Dillon is two years younger and played in a higher age division.

Cooper, 12, who plays on the Gators in the Bronco division, entered as a relief pitcher for the final three innings of the championship game. The Gators, ironically, also won 7-5.

Ramsey, Dillon and dad Jonathan drove straight from the Mustang medal ceremony at Hampton Field to the Bronco game at Coaches Field to catch the final few innings.
